About YLG (Young Leaders Group)

Are you a student interested in discussing important topics, tackling community issues, learning from experts, and receiving mentorship? The Young Leaders Group will meet every other week to engage in impactful discussions and learn from various speakers about meaningful topics. Participation in this group is considered an internship or volunteer hours with the Vice Mayor of Los Gatos. These meetings will begin in September and will be held through the end of the school year in December. The target age group is high school-aged students.

Six Easy Steps

Bring YEPI to Your School

If you’re interested in starting a Y.E.P.I. chapter at your school, review the eligibility criteria to see if your school qualifies. Once approved, our advisor liaison will guide you every step of the way to ensure your chapter becomes a meaningful and empowering experience for you and your peers.

Meet Y.E.P.I. Requirements

All Y.E.P.I. chapters must be based at a high school, have a chapter advisor officially recognized by the school, and include at least ten (10) student members and one (1) advisor.

Meet Your Association’s Requirements

If your chapter meets the basic requirements, it must also comply with additional guidelines set by your local Y.E.P.I. network or school district.

Obtain the Approval of Your School

Make sure you have the backing of your school’s leadership—this could be your principal, student activities coordinator, or community engagement director.

Officially Request to Start a Chapter

Once approved, complete the official process by submitting the chapter request form.

Get Approval and Make It Official by Submitting Your Members

After approval, submit your chapter’s membership details by entering your roster.

Y.E.P.I. is a youth-led movement empowering young people to develop leadership skills and drive positive change in their communities.

 

Any high school with at least ten interested students and a faculty advisor recognized by the school can start a chapter.

Complete the chapter request form and gain approval from your school’s leadership. Our team will guide you through the next steps.

Chapters organize leadership workshops, community service projects, advocacy campaigns, and civic engagement events.
